- We used a powerpoint to present our project. Our proeject was on the supernatural in Macbeth and how it affected the characters and play as a whole. We chose to use a powerpoint because this unit we have been using a lot of technology to futher our learning so we felt like it fit with the unit. It was also one of the best ways to show all of our ideas in an organized manner. Also, we seperated the 3 main ideas so that it was simple for each of us to only think of one idea and then bring them together at the end. That way when we presented, we could present our slides knowing exactly what we where talking about.
2.What were your influences for this presentation?
- Our influences were the play and the movie Macbeth, the Holinshed Chronicles, The Witch lore of the Celts, and Witch craft during the Renissance. I think that another minour influence was youtube, we used it a lot just to search clips for interpretations of the play and such.
3. Was this presentation any different then past presentations? Please explain.
- I don't think that this presentation was different from another other because I have used powerpoints in many other classes for projects.
4. Was this presentation any more challenging or was it easier than past presentations? Please explain.
- About the same because I have used powerpoint before. Maybe a little bit harder because we had to incorporate so many different things; the 3 main ideas, how the information helped Shakespeare create the play, how it affected the play, how it influenced the characters, and our essential questions.
5. Do you find yourself writing more on your private blog or on the class blog? Please explain.
- I find myself writing as little as possible on the class blog because I I don't really like sharing my ideas. I fell more free to express everything on my own blog because I know that most likely only my close friends in the class and the teacher will see it.
Macbeth
Do you see Macbeth as a tragic hero or not? Please bring in specific evidence from the text, you can also connect it to parts of your presentation to help support your argument. Make sure you explain what a tragic hero is. How do our EQ’s connect to this as well?
I think that Macbeth is a tragic hero, I think this because he was very much influenced by the witches who evidently took a man who was being rewarded for his courage and loyalty to the king into a man who was power hungry and killed the king to get more power. I think that in the beginning Macbeth had good intentions but then was influenced to change his his thinking and make bad decisions. We see this when Macbeth killed Duncan because he wanted the power to rule the kingdom, also he decides to kill banquo because he becomes so scared that he will lose his power. I don't think that he would have kill either of these people if the witches hadn't influenced him to change his thinking or planted the seed in his mind. I this connects to my EQ; "Does nurture or nature shape our destiny?" I think that it connects because Macbeth was effected so majorly by the prophecy which was something that I believe the witches came up with. I think that that would have be nurture and I fell that it had a big part in the play because it shaped who Macbeth became.
You have some good points to show what you think make him a tragic hero. remember to define what you mean by TH before you go into giving your egs. I do like how you have connected your Eq and explained it to show how it all connects. :)
